CLASSROOM BUCKETS
Parent groups report

Parent report from Kitchener Elementary School in Vancouver:

 PROJECT IN PROGRESS

    April 12, 2006:
  • I presented information from this website to other parents at our PAC meeting this evening regarding the need to have up-to-date emergency items in each classroom/library/office/etc.
  • Currently, Kitchener already has emergency backpacks in each classroom that were put together by energetic parents and teachers a few years ago (so we are lucky to have a head-start on this project). The backpacks were donated and a parent glued patches with a red cross on them to identify the backpacks for emergency use. However, some of the backpacks are missing some items, and as well, there are a few items on the list from this website that we would like to add to the backpacks (like crowbars, buckets, etc.).
  • I received approval to see what items we still need to add to the backpacks. Over the next several weeks, I will go through each of the backpacks and create a list with the items still required and their associated costs.
  • I will then present this list to PAC at the next meeting and seek approval for funding. If we do not have enough PAC funds to cover the costs, then I will look into various fundraising options.

Stay tuned for my next update!
