From June to October 2004, the Ministry of Education, in association with APEG BC, carried out a standardized assessment on all 864 schools within our zone of risk. (There are a total of approx 1,500 schools in the province).

311 of the schools assessed were thought to be at high risk of sustaining severe damage to structural elements in the event of a moderate to strong earthquake.
